Safety informations

• Dispose of the packaging material so that it is not accessible to children. There is a danger of suffocation, e.g. by swallowing!
• The voltage indicated on the nameplate must correspond to the available mains voltage.
• Only operate the unit when completely assembled!
• The device must be operated on a flat, stable surface.
• Ensure adequate lighting (at least 500 lux).
• Position the power supply cord such that no danger of tripping is possible in order to avoid throwing, or pulling the unit over.
• Do no push objects through the guard. Any loose objects which could be sucked in are to be removed from the suction area before switching the fan on. Keep loose clothing, such as scarves with fringes, away from the guard.
• The units are never be touched when having wet or moist hands.
• NEVER ALLOW WATER TO ENTER THE DEVICE! The fan must never get wet. If the unit has become wet, immediately unplug it from the mains.
• Do not expose the device to harmful environmental influences (rain, strong sunlight, etc.). Keep the device away from heat sources. The maximum continuous ambient temperature is 35 °C.
• To unplug the power cord from the outlet, pull on the plug and not the cord.
• Switch off the device and pull the plug when not in use, prior to cleaning, and when moving the fan to a different location.
• Do not use the device in locations where it could fall or be knocked into water. Never reach for the device if it falls into water. Turn off the power at the circuit breaker immediately and then pull the plug.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understands the hazards involved.
• Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
• If the mains plug or the power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced immediately by a specialist workshop or a qualified electrician in order to avoid hazards.

Before using the CasaFan fan, read the operating instructions carefully. Keep the operating instructions within reach. Never pass the fan onto another person without the operating instructions.

WARNING: Dangerous electric voltage Warns the user of the danger to the life an health due to electrical voltage.

CAUTION: Indicates risks to your health and possible injury risks.

Intended use: The fan is used to circulate room air in compliance with the technical data and safety instructions. It has a 2-pole switch; also suitable for commercial use in accordance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.

Improper use: The use in machines, outdoors, in garages and in wet rooms or rooms at risk of fire and explosion is not permitted. Modifications to the device are not permitted.

CAUTION: Unpack the device, check for completeness and transport damage. In particular the blade (2). If damage is visible, the device must not be used.

WARNING: Risk of injury and fire! Check the mains cable and the mains plug for damage regularly, but absolutely before each use. If damage is visible, do not use the device.

CAUTION: Risk of injury! Only place the fan on a stable, level surface. Do not tension the mains cable.

Behaviour in an emergency

CAUTION: Risk of injury! Switch off the device immediately in case of visible damage, unusual noise, strong vibration and/or malfunction.

1. Pull the mains plug from the socket in an emergency.

2. Take persons out of the danger area.

3. Secure the fan against start-up.

• The fan must not be put back into operation until a qualified electrician has eliminated the cause of the fault and released it for reuse.

Maintenance/cleaning instructions

WARNING: Disconnect the device from the mains supply by unplugging the plug or switching off the electrical system before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance work.

• Routine maintenance must be carried out once a year, earlier if it is very dirty.
• Clean the surface of the housing and the protective grille with a dry cloth and a soft brush. Do not use petrol or a similarly inflammable cleaning agent.
• The device is otherwise maintenance-free.

Storage

• If you are not going to use the fan for a long time, keep it in a dry room.
• You can also cover your unit to protect it from dust or dirt deposits.

Repair

WARNING: Repairs may only be carried out by qualified personnel a qualified electrician. Improperly repaired devices pose a great danger to the health and life of the users of the device.

• If the mains cable to this unit is damaged, then it can only be repaired by a repair workshop named by the manufacturer, due a special tool being needed.
