Functions & Features of the Brune B 600

EC radial fan

The fan can be adjusted using an 8-stage speed control. When the automatic mode is activated, performance is independently adapted to the conditions. Sensors detect the current humidity values and set the optimal level.

Modern control & smart features

The B 600 can be easily operated via the display. Control can also be conveniently carried out using an app (Brune Control App). This allows settings such as humidity, fan speeds, timers, error messages and other parameters to be adjusted remotely via the WLAN/Wi-Fi function.

Filter system

The touchscreen display allows the B 600 humidifier / air purifier to be controlled and operated. Among other things, it shows:

Sensors and automatic mode

With integrated sensors, the B 600 measures the humidity. In automatic mode, the device then automatically adjusts performance to reach the set target humidity.

Self-diagnosis

The B 600 independently checks its operating status. It can display the water level, indicate when a filter change is required, or show error messages.

2.2 Intended use

The B 600 Professional evaporative humidifier is intended exclusively for humidifying the room air in a private and professional environment. Not intended for use in medical facilities!

Intended use also includes compliance with all information in these instructions.

Any use of the device exceeding or deviating from its intended use is considered misuse.

WARNING! Danger in case of misuse! Misuse of the B 600 Professional evaporative humidifier can lead to dangerous situations.

Only operate the humidifier with fresh, cold ordinary tap water (max. 150 CFU/ml, 150 CFU/ml).
Only use additives approved by BRUNE Luftbefeuchtung Proklima GmbH.
Never operate the appliance in humidifier mode with an empty water tank.
Never operate the appliance near open water sources.
Only operate the appliance on a stable and level surface.
Never expose the appliance to strong heat sources.
Never cover the appliance.
Never place objects on the humidifier. This applies in particular to electrical appliances or containers filled with liquid.
Never place the appliance near furnishings that absorb water (for example curtains, wallpaper or carpets).
Never operate the appliance in an explosive environment.

WARNING! Hygienic operation When operated with clean, fresh drinking water and in accordance with this manual, the appliance is safe to use for humidification. However, drinking water contains bacteria and microorganisms. To ensure hygienic and perfect operation of the humidifier, regular water replacement and regular cleaning are essential. If this is not observed, it may cause health problems under certain circumstances. Therefore, always follow the cleaning instructions and keep your appliance clean and fresh.

2.3 Symbols on the appliance

WARNING! Danger from illegible labelling! Over time, stickers and labels can become dirty or otherwise unrecognisable, so that hazards cannot be recognised and necessary operating instructions cannot be followed. This creates a risk of injury.

Keep all safety, warning and operating instructions in a clearly legible condition at all times.
Replace damaged labels or stickers immediately.

“Electrical voltage” sign: Warning of dangerous electrical voltage.

“Unplug mains plug” sign: Always unplug the mains plug first before cleaning and troubleshooting.

“Fill here” sign: This sign marks the filling opening of the water tank. Use only this opening for filling the water tank.

2.4 Safety and hazards

The humidifier is designed according to the state of the art and in accordance with current safety requirements. Nevertheless, residual hazards remain that require careful action. The residual hazards and the resulting behaviours and measures are listed below.

Electric current

DANGER! Danger to life from electric current! Touching live parts poses an immediate danger to life from electric shock. Damage to the insulation or individual components can be life-threatening.

Have work on the electronics carried out only by qualified electricians.
If the power cable is damaged, switch off the humidifier immediately and arrange for repair.
Damaged power supply cables may only be replaced by the manufacturer or its customer service or a similarly qualified person.
Keep moisture away from live parts. This can lead to a short circuit.
Never immerse the appliance in water.
Never point the outlet opening at electrical appliances or sockets.
Always route the power cable so that it cannot come into contact with heat sources, moisture, oil, sharp objects, sharp edges, etc.
Always unplug the mains plug first before cleaning and troubleshooting.
Never touch the mains plug with wet hands.
When unplugging the mains plug, always pull on the plug, never on the cable.
Never pull the appliance by the cable.

Children

WARNING! Risk of injury for children! Children cannot assess the dangers of handling the humidifier. This can lead to serious injuries.

Batteries and other small parts can be swallowed. Insert batteries immediately after receiving the humidifier or store them out of the reach of children.
Packaging materials must not be used for play. There is an acute danger of suffocation. Dispose of packaging materials immediately or store them out of the reach of children.
Always supervise children to ensure that they do not play with the appliance or use the appliance as a climbing aid.

Inadequate cleaning

WARNING! Health hazard due to inadequate cleaning! Inadequate cleaning can release bacteria and germs.

Replace the evaporator filter after four months at the latest. In case of heavy contamination of the ambient air, shorten the time interval accordingly.
Always observe the cleaning intervals described in “6.2 Cleaning schedule” on page 27.
Empty the water tank completely at least weekly and refill the water tank.

Excessive humidity

WARNING! Health hazard from excessive humidity! Air that is too moist promotes the formation of mould and germs harmful to health.

In living rooms, do not exceed the recommended value of 50 – 60 % humidity.
To prevent damage to health, persons with asthma, respiratory diseases or lung complaints should consult a doctor before using the humidifier.
In case of breathing difficulties that may be related to the use of the humidifier, stop operating the humidifier immediately and consult a doctor.

Puddles of water

CAUTION! Risk of injury from slipping in puddles of water! Slipping in puddles of water on the floor can lead to a fall. This can lead to injuries.

Place the humidifier on a level surface.
Wipe up puddles of water immediately with a cloth.
Regularly check the safety drip tray (optional accessory) and empty it if necessary.

Tripping

CAUTION! Risk of injury from tripping over the power cable! Careless routing of the power cable can create tripping hazards. These can lead to falls and injuries.

Route the power cable so that no tripping hazards arise.

Wrong choice of location

NOTICE! Risk of damage to property from incorrect placement of the humidifier! If the humidifier is operated on floors that are not moisture-resistant, there is a risk of damaging them.

Only place the humidifier on moisture-resistant floors.
To protect against leaking water, use a safety drip tray (“8.4 Safety drip tray” on page 51).
Never place the appliance near furnishings that absorb water (for example curtains, wallpaper or carpets).

2.6 Personnel requirements

WARNING! Risk of injury from insufficient qualification of personnel! If unqualified persons carry out work on the humidifier, hazards arise that can cause serious injuries and considerable damage to property.

Have all activities carried out only by persons qualified for them.
Always keep unauthorised persons, especially children, away from the appliance.

This appliance can be used by children aged 8 and over, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of experience and knowledge, if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and understand the resulting hazards. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision.

2.7 Environmental protection

NOTICE! Danger to the environment from incorrect handling of environmentally hazardous substances! Incorrect handling of environmentally hazardous substances, especially incorrect disposal, can cause considerable damage to the environment.

Always observe the notes below on handling environmentally hazardous substances and their disposal.
If environmentally hazardous substances accidentally get into the environment, take suitable measures immediately. In case of doubt, inform the responsible municipal authority about the damage and ask about suitable measures to be taken.

Batteries contain toxic heavy metals. They are subject to hazardous waste treatment and must be handed in at municipal collection points or disposed of by a specialist company.

3.1 Safety instructions for transport and storage

NOTICE! Damage to property from improper transport! With improper transport, transport items can fall or topple over. This can result in considerable damage to property.

When unloading the transport items on delivery, proceed carefully and observe the symbols and instructions on the packaging.
Always transport packages upright and never throw them.
Only remove packaging shortly before commissioning.
Never transport the humidifier when filled. Water can leak out and cause damage to the appliance or furnishings.

3.6 Transporting the humidifier

NOTICE! Risk of damage to property from tipping of the humidifier! If the humidifier is pushed back and forth, there is a risk that the appliance will tip over. This can cause damage to the appliance or the floor.

Whenever possible, move the humidifier along the longitudinal axis.
Always empty the water tank before changing location.

4.1 Safety instructions for initial commissioning Commissioning a defective appliance can lead to life-threatening situations and cause considerable damage to property.
