The refrigerant R290

To function correctly, the air conditioner has a cooling circuit inside in which an environmentally friendly refrigerant circulates: R290 = GWP (global warming potential: 3). It is a only slightly flammable and odourless refrigerant with optimal thermodynamic properties that ensure high energy efficiency.

Attention: Given the low flammability of this refrigerant, it is recommended to follow the safety instructions in this manual very strictly.

• Do not use any means other than those recommended to speed up the defrosting process or for cleaning.
• For repairs, only follow the manufacturer's instructions and always commission a Technibel customer service. Any repairs carried out by unqualified personnel can be dangerous.
• The appliance must not be stored in a room with permanently operating sources of ignition (e.g. open flames, an operating gas appliance or an operating electric heater).
• Do not pierce or burn.
• The appliance must be installed, used and stored in a room with a floor area of more than 6 m².
• The appliance contains the flammable gas R290.
• Attention, the refrigerants are odourless.

General operating and safety instructions

• This appliance is a highly efficient dehumidifier intended for domestic use only!
• Use the dehumidifier only within the scope of the instructions described in this manual. Any use not recommended by the manufacturer can cause fires, electric shocks or malfunctions.
• Because it contains refrigerant, the appliance must always be positioned vertically.
• After opening the package, place the appliance in a vertical position and wait two hours before use so that the refrigerant can stabilise.
• Make sure that the power supply corresponds to the required voltage (220-240V~/50Hz).
• Fuse type: RTI-10, 4T, 334, L3CT or 4F 250V, the current flowing through the fuse must not exceed 2A or 3.15A (see data on the product's rating plate).
• This appliance may be used by children aged 8 and over and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or who lack the necessary experience or knowledge only if they are supervised or have been instructed in the use of the product and thus know and have understood the possible hazards.
• Children must not play with this appliance.
• Cleaning and maintenance work for which the operator is responsible must not be carried out by unsupervised children.
• Check that the plug is firmly inserted. Do not use multiple plugs. Do not touch the plug with wet hands. Make sure that the plug is clean.
• Children aged 3–8 are only allowed to switch the appliance on and off, provided the appliance is in normal operating mode, they have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and have understood the hazards.
• Children between 3 and 8 years must not plug the appliance into the socket, change the settings or carry out maintenance work on it.
• Unplug the plug from the socket when not in use or for cleaning. A plugged-in plug can cause electric shocks or accidents.
• To disconnect the appliance from the mains, switch it off with the POWER button and then unplug the plug from the socket. Simply pull out the plug. Do not pull on the cable.
• The power cable must not be bent, dragged over the floor, twisted or forcibly pulled out of the socket.
• Do not switch on the appliance if the cable or plug is damaged: risk of fire or electric shock! If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by customer service. Do not place heavy objects on the appliance.
• To avoid water splashes, empty the water tank before moving the appliance.
• Do not lay the dehumidifier on its side or tip it over; the escaping water could damage the appliance
• Do not use the appliance on unstable or inclined surfaces: water loss could lead to malfunctions or abnormal vibrations with corresponding noise.
• The dehumidifier must be set up with a minimum distance of 50 cm from the wall or other obstacles in order to radiate the heat correctly.
• Close all open windows to achieve the highest possible dehumidification.
• Do not insert any objects or needles into the air outlet grille.
• Do not cover the air intake and outlet grilles in any way.

ATTENTION! If you notice an anomaly, switch off the appliance immediately and unplug the plug from the socket. Do not carry out any repairs or modifications to this product yourself and do not take it apart. In the event of a malfunction, contact customer service directly.

• Do not immerse the cable, the plug or other parts of the appliance in water or other liquids.
• Do not expose the dehumidifier to direct sunlight.
• Keep the appliance away from heat sources that could cause deformation of the plastic.
• Do not use insecticides, oils or spray paints near the appliance; they could damage the plastic and/or cause a fire.
• Keep gas or flammable oils away from the appliance!
• Do not move the appliance during operation: this could lead to water loss or functional anomalies.
• In the event of interference with other electrical appliances, position them at a minimum distance of 70 cm from each other.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been supervised or instructed in the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Checks before commissioning / Starting the dehumidifier

Place the product on a level, stable and heat-resistant surface, at a minimum distance of 1 metre from flammable or heat-sensitive surfaces and 50 cm from walls or other objects.

It is recommended not to use the dehumidifier if the room temperature is below 5 °C.

Do not remove the tank while the appliance is running.

Defrosting process: Do not interrupt defrosting and do not disconnect the power supply.

ATTENTION: After each interruption of operation, at least 3 minutes must pass before the dehumidifier starts again: This start-up delay protects the compressor from possible damage.

If the dehumidifier does not start even after 10 minutes or if the cable or plug is damaged, switch off the dehumidifier and contact a technical customer service.

Removal of condensate

Take care not to damage the float and the securing rivets, otherwise the appliance will not stop operating automatically when the water tank is full and water can escape, wet the floor and damage the appliance.

Do not use the drain hose if you want to collect the condensed water in the tank, otherwise water can flow out of the hose.

Maintenance and care

Attention: Always unplug the plug from the socket before cleaning the dehumidifier, otherwise electric shocks or malfunctions may occur.

Warning: Do not wet the dehumidifier and do not immerse it in water, otherwise electric shocks may occur.

Do not use solvents, petrol, xylene, talcum powder or brushes: they could damage the surface or the colour of the housing.

Do not use a hairdryer or fire to dry the filter.

Do not use sponges or brushes to clean the filter, as these can damage it.

Do not use the dehumidifier without a filter, as dust could impair the efficiency of the evaporator and lead to higher energy consumption.

Regulation (EU) No. 517/2014 – F-Gas

The appliance contains R290, a natural gas with global warming potential (GWP) = 3 – kg 0.120 = 0.00036 tonnes CO2 equivalent. Do not release R290 into the environment.
