Applications in Professional & Construction Site Daily Use
Key Performance Benefits of the Comedes BTR 50
Under specified test conditions, the Comedes BTR 50 achieves a dehumidification capacity of up to 51 liters per 24 hours. This makes the building dehumidifier suitable for rooms and applications with high moisture loads.
The powder-coated sheet steel housing is engineered for demanding working environments. Castors and transport handles make it easy to position the unit at the respective site.
Automatic hot gas defrosting supports operation at lower temperatures and reduces performance drops caused by icing on the evaporator. This makes the BTR 50 suitable for unheated areas such as basements and shell constructions.
Large castors and the transport handle facilitate moving and positioning the building dehumidifier. This is especially practical when the unit needs to be moved between different locations within a building.
With proper installation, condensation can be continuously routed to a drain via the integrated hose connection. This eliminates the need to manually empty the water tank regularly.
The washable dust and coarse particle filter can be cleaned and reused. Regular cleaning in accordance with the instruction manual supports reliable operation.
Operation & Condensate Drainage on the Construction Site
In daily building drying and restoration work, the BTR 50 can run for extended periods. Collected condensate accumulates either in the collection container or, with proper setup, can be drained continuously via the designated hose connection. When the water tank is full, the integrated protection function automatically shuts down the device.
If condensate cannot be drained via natural gravity, an external condensate pump can be used depending on the installation setup. This allows water to be pumped to a higher drain point.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Comedes BTR 50 Building Dehumidifier
The BTR 50 is engineered for applications with elevated moisture levels. These include dehumidifying shell constructions and basements, supporting new building drying, and drying rooms during renovation work. The unit can also be used in commercial settings to reduce high humidity.
The Comedes BTR 50 achieves a dehumidification capacity of up to 51 liters per 24 hours at 30 °C and 80% relative humidity. Actual water extraction may be lower depending on temperature and humidity levels in the operating room.
Automatic hot gas defrosting supports operation at lower temperatures by automatically melting ice build-up on the evaporator. As a result, the BTR 50 is suitable for use in cooler basements and unheated shell constructions, provided operating conditions remain within allowable limits.
Yes. The BTR 50 can be used to support building drying, such as dehumidifying rooms during shell construction or renovation. For heavily saturated building components, major water damage, or special drying requirements, a professional assessment and tailored drying concept may be required.
Condensation generated during dehumidification can be routed continuously to a suitable drain via the designated hose connection. If there is insufficient natural slope, an external condensate pump may be required depending on the installation setup.
The BTR 50 is designed for higher dehumidification needs in construction, basement, and restoration environments. Features like the sheet steel housing, castors, automatic hot gas defrosting, and continuous condensate drainage distinguish it from typical residential dehumidifiers. For living spaces with lower moisture levels, smaller units such as models from the Comedes Demecto series are often sufficient.
Yes. For extended operation, condensate can be continuously drained via the integrated hose connection. When using the collection container, the device automatically shuts off when full via its integrated safety function. Operation should be conducted according to the user manual and specified operating conditions.
A condensate pump is useful when water cannot be drained via natural gravity. It allows condensation to be pumped to a higher drain point, facilitating flexible setup of the building dehumidifier across various operational scenarios.

- The refrigerant circuit is sealed. Maintenance work in this regard may only be carried out by a qualified technician. The maintenance manual must be requested from the manufacturer by the technician.
- Do not release the refrigerant into the atmosphere.
- R290 (propane) is extremely flammable and heavier than air. It first collects in low areas, but can be circulated by fans.
- If propane gas is present, or suspected to be present, do not allow untrained persons to search for the cause.
- The propane gas used in this unit is odourless. Therefore, gas may have escaped even without any perceptible smell.
- The components used are designed for propane gas and are therefore non-ignitable and non-sparking.
- Components may only be replaced by identical spare parts approved by the manufacturer.
- Note that the refrigerant is odourless.
- Compliance with national gas regulations must be observed.
- Failure to comply with the safety instructions can lead to explosion, death, injury and material damage.
- Any person carrying out work on the refrigerant circuit shall hold a current valid certificate of competence issued by an assessment body accredited by the industry which Attention demonstrates their competence to safely handle refrigerant in accordance with a procedure recognised by the industry.
- Maintenance may only be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. During maintenance and repairs requiring the assistance of other specialists, the person trained Attention in handling flammable gases must constantly monitor the work.
- If you do not understand something or need help, please contact the manufacturer.

- Appropriate use The dehumidifier is only intended for dehumidifying privately used rooms (e.g. living rooms, bedrooms, storage rooms or cellars). The user must comply with the specified operating parameters of this manual.
- The machine may only be used for its intended purpose. Any other use beyond this is not intended. The user/operator and not the manufacturer is liable for any damage or injury of any kind resulting from this.
Operating instructions
- The device is designed for a temperature range between 5 and 35°C. Below 5°C the air humidity tends to be very low, so you do not need to use a dehumidifier. Above 35°C, the overheating protection may automatically switch off the unit. The device is not approved for operation outside the temperature range.
- The dehumidifier warms the air so that it can dehumidify optimally. Therefore the room temperature can rise by 1-2 degrees. This is quite normal and increases the efficiency of the device.
- When the water tank is full, the appliance switches off automatically.
- Leave the appliance in its final, upright position for at least 24 hours before starting it up for the first time.
- Always operate the appliance in an upright position and do not tilt it during operation.
